Deputy Director, Shenzhen Yantian Institute of Education Sciences
Mr. Chen Shangbao is a Senior Teacher and the Vice President of the Shenzhen Yantian District Institute of Educational Sciences. He is now pursuing a doctorate in Education at Beijing Normal University. He also serves as the Host of the Shenzhen Education Research Expert Studio, the Vice Chairman of the Shenzhen Education Career Education Professional Committee, the off-campus Practice Supervisor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen), the master’s Supervisor of Education at Shenzhen University, a member of the Expert Committee of the International Project-Based Learning Community, and in several other capacities.
Based on a background analysis of basic education reform and innovation in the regional contexts of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and in conjunction with the actual situation of Yantian District in Shenzhen City, a practical approach to project-based learning in the region is proposed. This is, namely, an institutional safeguard to promote the change of learning mode; curriculum leadership to establish a project-based learning educational framework with regional characteristics; a model construction to promote the effective implementation of such an instructional approach; and branding to expand its influence in the region. The presentation will also include a brief overview of the outcomes and efficacy of project-based learning in the Bay Area.
