Principal, HKRSS Tai Po Secondary School
Franky Poon serves as the Principal of Hong Kong Red Swastika Society Tai Po Secondary School and is a specialist with the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications. He was seconded to the Education Bureau (EDB) to support over 80 local schools in addressing learner diversity and fostering inclusive environments. Mr. Poon is frequently invited to speak at various tertiary education programmes and teacher training courses, where he shares his expertise in supporting students with diverse needs. Additionally, he has authored several book chapters and journal articles and presents at both local and international conferences on enhancing schools' capacity and leadership to cater to student diversity.
As the Project Lead of the Jockey Club “Diversity at Schools” Project (2018-2024), Mr. Poon focuses on improving the ability of primary and secondary schools to accommodate diverse learners. He also contributes as a member of the Committee on Professional Development of Teachers and Principals (COTAP) and the Community Care Fund (CCF) Task Force. In recognition of his contributions to integrated education, he was awarded the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Community Service in 2013.
